The Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg, the tallest building in Europe, has won the Emporis Skyscraper Award 2020, an award for architectural excellence with regard to the design of buildings and their functionality.
It is located in St. Petersburg, is 462 meters high and has 86 floors. The Lakhta Center, the tallest skyscraper in Europe, won the prestigious Skyscraper Award 2020, surpassing 700 other competitors worldwide. The stunning building, designed to resemble a flame, is made up of over 16,000 individual pieces of curved glass designed to change color according to the sun.
The ultra-low environmental impact skyscraper will house Gazprom’s headquarters and will be inaugurated in 2021.
The interior design of the public areas was designed by Fabio Mazzeo Architects, on behalf of Exclusiva who, as interior General Contractor, was awarded the international competition launched in 2015.
