LOCATION: Daghestan, Russia
FLOOR AREA: 600,000 sqm

CLIENT: Matlas

This large-scale intervention began from the client’s will to enhance an area of Dagestan which is precious for its naturalistic and cultural features.
The large masterplan found its epicenter in a volcano-shaped building rising from the ground, around which all the other structures are formed following a spiral trajectory.
Each building serves a specific purpose: 4 and 5 stars hotels, VIP villas, balneological Centre, leisure and sporting activities such as golf, skiing, horse riding, shooting, child Centre, mosque, orthodox church, heliport and staff areas.
The masterplan is crossed by the principal axis linking the skiing lift facilities to the belvedere, an amazing viewpoint on the valley where a monument dedicated to Tolstoj is situated.
For this touristic and recreational center, the client desired architectures which could represent the classics of the future, with a contemporary allure but rooting back to tradition.
